A certain Ejikeme Mmesoma, who paraded herself as the top scorer in the 2023 UTME, will be prosecuted and have her result withdrawn by JAMB.
Jamb said Mmesoma manually inflated her result from 249 to 362 and used her fraudulent result to obtain an N3 million scholarship from Innoson Motors.
She was also set to be honored by the Anambra State government before she was discovered.
In many instances, some of these candidates had actually obtained far lower scores than they were claiming and had used some funny software packages to manipulate their results to deceive unsuspecting members of the public.
It is to be noted that Miss Mmesoma sent a message to the Board’s platform to request her UTME result, after which she manually inflated her scores and pasted them on the 2022 UTME result sheet. Unknown to her, the Board had changed the design of the 2023 UTME result sheet. Her original result remains 249, as nothing can change that, JAMB clarified.
Another individual from Kaduna, Atung Gerald, also claimed to have scored 380. Some citizens were pushing for him to be recognized. Jamb later discovered that Atung Gerald didn’t even sit for the UTME.
The authentic top scorer for the 2023 UTME is Umeh Precious Nkechinyere from Anambra.
She scored 360 and is a student at Deeper Life High School.
