Is the JAMB cut-off mark for 2022–2023 already set? “YES” is the clear answer to it. The JAMB cut-off scores for universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, agriculture, and other institutions for the class of 2022–2023 are now available.
These cut-off scores have been made public by JAMB and will be used by schools to determine admission this academic year. Candidates that participated in the 2022 UTME and selected schools want to know their chances of admission. It is crucial that you are aware of the school’s cutoff score before taking the exam. This will inform you of the need for additional investigation.
Institutions are not to lower their minimal cut-off points for admissions than those set at the meeting, according to JAMB Registrar Prof. Is-haq Oloyede. Additionally, he added, “We will simply set the minimum; whatever you decide is your admission cut-off mark is up to you.”
The minister said he is not against Post-UTME but the cost must not exceed Two Thousand Naira (N2,000), and this time, they will certainly enforce it, during a JAMB policy meeting.
It includes a list of all polytechnics, colleges, and specialized institutions, together with the cut-off scores they will use to determine admission for the academic year 2022–2023.
Candidates who participated in the 2022 UTME should be aware of the 2022 JAMB UTME cut-off marks.
This article will discuss the JAMB cut-off scores set by JAMB for
all colleges, including polytechnic ones. Every year, JAMB makes this announcement, and the schools use it as a standard for admission.
What does JAMB’s Cut-off Mark mean?
This is the minimal JAMB score a candidate needs to have in order to get admitted to a university. You can compare this to the GED passing score, even though they are not precisely the same.
JAMB Cutoff Marks for Admission in 2022–2023
When we refer to the JAMB UTME Cut off marks, we do not necessarily imply the ones that the institution would use. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board will make this one available for colleges to utilize as a benchmark.
Cut-off marks for this year’s admission to universities, polytechnics, and other institutions have been made public by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). At this cut-off mark, colleges of education and monotechnics are involved.
In Nigeria, the cutoff score for admission to universities is 140; for polytechnics and colleges of education, it is 120; and for innovative and enterprising institutes, it is 110.
The scores JAMB has established are those. However, for admissions purposes, colleges often accept the higher JAMB UTME results listed below.
- public universities – 180
- private universities – 140
- Public Polytechnics – 160
- private polytechnic – 110
- School of Education – 100
However, institutions are free to set their own cut-off marks for admission that are higher than the minimum specified by JAMB.
JAMB Releases Institutional Admission Cut-Off Marks
They made these choices at the recently concluded 2022 Combined Policy Meetings on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria.
Institutions are not to lower their minimal cut-off points for admissions than those set at the meeting, according to JAMB Registrar Prof. Is-haq Oloyede. He stated, “JAMB has simply made recommendations; we will only set the minimum.” You are free to choose whichever standard you want for admittance.
Nigerian institutions’ cut-off scores
Federal, state, and private universities are included together. The table’s first column contains the serial number; the second, the names of the universities; and the third, the precise cut-off point. The JAMB cut-off mark for 2022/2023 has been authorized and made public for Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and other higher institutions.
For admission to universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and innovative enterprises, the minimum cut-off marks recommended by JAMB are 180, 160, 140, and 110, respectively.
On July 21, 2022, the Jamb policy test was administered for the 2022 cutoff point. Universities will not admit students with scores lower than 140, while polytechnics and colleges of education cannot accept applicants with scores lower than 100. This suggests that there will be a set cut-off score for admissions in 2023–2024.
